20b, thanks for the caps over the last fortnight ..... your dedication and standard never diminish, although Kath's infrequent appearances is becoming frustrating. Her workload has now been cut in half, reduced to just reading Friday Afternoon News. I don't understand what is going on with Kath receiving so little work of late ..... Fauziah was missing from Weekend Breakfast this weekend, but Kath was not given the gig here either? She is getting so little work that perhaps it's effecting her delivery. Last Friday , Kath started the News by announcing that Nigel Farage had won the British election instead of Keir Starmer, although quickly correcting her mistake.....not often do we get a faux pas from Kath! Is this lack of activity the quiet before the storm, now that Lisa Millar is leaving News Breakfast? There is much discussion amongst the chattering classes that Kath would be "great" in that role. Clearly she would be ideal and a "shoo-in" candidate, but I can't see her leaving Sydney as the program is produced in Melbourne. Now if only it was produced in Sydney .......

Well done 20b .....always on the ball, particularly last Sunday! It's good to see Kath at last getting some fill-in roles this week - she is on again this afternoon. Although, when there is a moving and breaking event like Sunday's failed assassination of Trump, then the ABC are quick to discard their less experienced presenters (in this case Ruby Cornish) and wheel out the nimble intellect and experience of Kath to facilitate forensic interviews with the experts like John Barron. She has become a steady hand for the ABC, replacing the likes of Leigh Sales, Annabel Crabb and Ellen Fanning in the role of "crisis" presenter. There are older presenters .....the "Brit pack" (Sarah Ferguson, Ros Childs, Lorna Dunkley), but Kath is certainly now the most experienced (and best!) of the ABC's regular "home grown" presenters. No doubt her intelligence and personality will stand her in good stead for many years to come, and although these attributes are enough, the fact that she is still an extremely beautiful woman is a bonus that the ABC needs to use in more substantial presenter roles.
