Anyone comparing "Celebrity" Letters and Numbers to 8oo10CDC needs locking in a room full of mirrors to have a bloody good hard look at themselves. CL&N redefines the meaning of a low-rent copy. The first episode was so ass-clenchingly, teeth gratingly unfunny and forced, I could only get 15 minutes into it before my embarrassment for Lily & David being there forced me to switch channels.
I'm sure Lily & David are happy to paste on the fake smiles and laugh when prompted at the appropriate triggers on the autocue in order to get paid, but oh lord… how much is your dignity worth?
It has to be the worst non-reality show on TV. The sooner it is cancelled again the better. How on Earth someone can take inspiration from a show as great as 8oo10CDC and make a hash of it as badly as this is really quite an achievement. I suppose it helps when you're making a show based around "celebrities" and comedians in a country that doesn't have any of either.
That was probably the first warning flag actually. Any show that comes out of Australia claiming to be celebrity or comedy <anything> should really just be avoided right from the getgo, because you know it will contain neither of those two things.
I can't actually decide which is worse. CL&N or Patriot Games. Patriot Games is hosted by Bill Bailey, so I think that puts it a nose in front. Still horribly unwatchable, but better than that painfully unfunny grinning idiot they poached out of high school to "host" CL&N.
