After a 4 year journey (which included all other houses in my street being connected 2 years ago), it seems I can now get NBN.
I’ve opted for the 50Mbps plan with Beyond, has anyone seen a noticeable difference between 50 and 100? Cable length to exchange is ~500m (300m line of sight).
Which providers do you use?

Ever stepped down to 50Mbps? I'm not a gamer, just an occasional streamer, frequent downloader, frequent YouTuber

I've been connected to the NBN for three months now.
I have had hardware issues (the router needed to be replaced), but that was not a network (NBN) issue.
Once that was sorted out, the speed has been excellent and connectivity has been very reliable.
I have to say, that in spite of all the criticisms, I have found the NBN to be great.

I have to say, that in spite of all the criticisms, I have found the NBN to be great. The installation process is already looking to be a cock-up. I was told installation 7/11/2019 (today) between 8am-12noon. Fine, I took the day off today. However, I was at home yesterday when I see 2 guys walking around, eventually they knock - they were there to inspect the civil works required, apparently they need to run a whole new conduit from the pit to the house before the installer can do the internal install (the house is only 8 years old). So it means they'll do the civil works today (supposedly), but I need to take another day off to allow the installers to do the internal work... ***UPDATE: They turned up!*** You'd think that they can co-ordinate these things with the customer as the focus - by having both civil and internals here concurrently and testing at the end. This after NBN sent me a text 3 days ago asking me to rate my installation experience (before installation was scheduled or completed) - I gave them 0/10 because it hadn't happened. So far (installation) experience is 6/10 and sliding.

I had notification from NBN months before actual installation (maybe eight or nine months?) that site inspection and "civil" installation would take place shortly and that I didn't need to be home as they didn't require access to the inside of the house. I work from home, so it didn't really matter to me anyway. But the guys that did the site inspection knocked on my door and explained to me exactly what they had done, what they were going to do today, and what I could expect to follow later. They couldn't have been clearer. They ran a new line to the pole across the street (which carries the HFC cable) and put a new box on the outside of the house. As they left they said that I would receive a letter in several months time that would confirm the network was active, and that I needed to arrange for the installation to be finalised by my chosen provider. That would require access to the inside of the house, so I would need to be home. Not quite the way that it worked out. Once I engaged the provider (Optus) they arranged two appointments. The first one for the "cable guy" who was from NBN, and the second one from Optus a couple of days later. Turns out that was merely to check that everything was running, he didn't even check the work done: So that could have been done by phone. The only thing wrong was that the landline was not ringing when someone called. That was an exchange thing, which they fixed within 24 hours. Given the horror stories that I have heard, I thought my experience was relatively painless. Apart from the flakey Router, which has now been replaced, everything runs like a dream. (fingers crossed). Maybe I just got lucky, but I hope the rest of your installation is also relatively painless. Here's the results though. This is at the time of posting, and while my VPN is running.

So tomorrow is supposed to be the big day...and can't come soon enough.
It appears VERY obviously that since I advised TPG i'd be moving (why, I don't know), my DSL has dropped off considerably.
I'm jealous of you guys above, how the fk do you get 193Mbps wolverine?
