Variety reports that Weaving, who is the niece of famed actor Hugo Weaving, sparked an investigation into SMILF creator and star Frankie Shaw after being asked to film a sex scene nude while shooting season two of the series, which airs on Stan in Australia.
The Hollywood Reporter also claims Shaw had left video monitors on while filming the sex scene while the set was supposed to be closed, resulting in Weaving reporting the incident to Showtime and SAG-AFTRA.
Weaving, who was eventually allowed to film the scene wearing underwear, also complained to co-star Rosie O’Donnell, who then raised it with an executive at Showtime.
The 26-year-old reportedly told O’Donnell that Shaw had made her “uncomfortable” filming a similar scene in season one.
Weaving had allegedly been asked to perform a sex scene naked with 40 minutes’ notice despite having a no nudity clause in her contract.
When she objected Shaw “pulled her into a trailer” and “yanked off her own top and demanded to know why Weaving had a problem being nude when Shaw had no such concerns”, THR claims.
Through her lawyers, Shaw didn’t deny the confrontation took place but told THR her breasts were not exposed when she pulled off her top in front of Weaving.
According to Variety, Weaving’s complaint sparked a human resources investigation into Shaw which found there was no misconduct.
Weaving was released from her contract “at her request” and is not thought to be returning for SMILF’s third season. Well that's her career dead and buried no nudity will drastically reduce her roles and the way she carried on about nudity rightfully or wrongfully directors will go cold on her like it or not it happens she'll be looked at as trouble let's face it Hollywood is full of creeps and they will not take a punt on her making a scene in the early stages she may get the odd publicity role from some director trying to cash in on her but long term it will hurt her

There had been jokes and inside knowledge about Weinstein and many others for years. Any of the women in that situation could have at any time chosen morals over money, but didn't. REGRET ISN'T RAPE. Weinstein is a sleazy prick, but coming out years later is just getting on a bandwagon. Samara (and others); how about being consistent. If you take nude selfies, or seductive lingerie\bikini shoots for money, or wear low cut tops, you portray a certain image of yourself. Of course you can object if you feel uncomfortable, but an image will attract certain roles. That's life, if you want to change it, putting sexy shots of yourself in the public domain isn't the way forward.

Showtime's SMILF Canceled Amid Probe of Frankie Shaw's Misconduct. The network declined a third season, and ABC Studios suspended Shaw's deal amid questions about her on-set behavior. After two seasons and a campaign to rehabilitate the image of its creator-star, SMILF has been given walking papers at Showtime.
