The downside is the presenter misses out on driving traffic to this site, as more move away from boards, it will become "a thing".
A fun part is someone like Louise Milligan, who had a 2 post thread for almost six months, i liked her fire & getting stuck into the NSW govt transport chaos, later discovered a few grouped 1 off pics to merge, then went onto becomming a nightly reporter, until moving to ABC then following up on the Church sex scandal & winning an award. But when you google or bing = images have always gone to a few here! :)
Even on my own posts while 1 or 2 likes may begrudgedly given and 10- 100 ( over a week or so) views here, in 24 hours on twitter up to 5K-6K can view stuff.
The thing that kept this site going via all the versions of it has been the dedicated threads resulting in top ranking search, via engines... something that does not occur via grouped threads. #bigpicture
