Dancing with the Stars to conclude earlyQuote: EXCLUSIVE: Seven is set to wrap Dancing with the Stars earlier than originally scheduled.
TV Tonight understands it will now conclude with a Monday night grand final on September 7th -the first Monday episode in its 15 seasons- and 6 days earlier than its original date of Sunday 13th.
This season has hit new lows, down to 673,000 viewers and also featured its first ‘double elimination.’
Former host Daniel MacPherson recently defended his successor Shane Bourne, but the show has been up against Nine’s Voice as well as attracting some comment over shunting its Live band off camera for the first time in 14 seasons.
But moving the grand final amid under-performing numbers is also strategic and will enable Seven to draw upon its ‘Super September’ events including The X Factor, Peter Allen: Not the Boy Next Door and 800 Words. http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2015/08/dancing-with-the-stars-to-conclude-early.html

as with all shows, people eventually get bored with it and as usual it's the network that realises it too late after milking the bejesus out of it for years

Renewed: Dancing with the StarsSeven is backing its variety reality series Dancing with the Stars for 2016 despite underperforming numbers this season. A Seven spokesperson tells News Corp, “Another series of Dancing With The Stars was never in doubt — of course it is back next year. “It is a reliable rater and it has a legion of fans. The US version is up to its 21st season and that is where we see the Australian series heading.” The early renewal contrasts the show not worthy of a mention in last year’s 2015 Upfronts. The US version of course has run twice a year since it began in 2005. The Australian series is actually older, having been the very first Dancing with the Stars in 2004, renamed from the UK’s Strictly Come Dancing. The 2015 season has drawn its lowest ever ratings and attracted some comment surrounding new host Shane Bourne, moving the Live band from centrestage and the annual questions about the celebrity status of its cast. But it has also had to contend with The Voice and a later starting time. Next week Seven has its first ever Monday grand final 6 days earlier than originally planned. http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2015/09/renewed-dancing-with-the-stars.html

We should know & remember that the 1st Aussie version of Strictly Come Dancing, was ABC`s Strictly Dancing hosted by Paul McDermott & commentated by Lex Marinos & Angela Gilltrap. This show gave us season 3 winner Luda who went onto the ch7 version as a pro dancer.

And the UK version i mentioned above was? If we go way back the Australian Ballroom championships that were televised here, the peak being after Strictly Ballroom movie success & interest (1996-2000s). The ABC concept was to try and combine both the reality vibe that was starting to emerge & take advantage of a subsidised way to get ballroom back on the menu. Seven`s formula later worked so well that others including the USA bought the format, the UK re named their own show, to fall in line & help as a makeover. Thanks for Jade narly!
