The young starlet is being flown by the media giant to South America for six weeks to shoot the lead role in the television movie.
The cherub-faced beauty was born in Sydney and raised in northern NSW but has based herself in Brisbane after landing a role on children's series Mortified and went on to work on series such as K9, Trapped and Castaway.
The 18-year-old will also be seen in her feature film debut The Philosophers, due to be released this year.
Mitchell told Confidential she had mixed emotions about what could turn out to be her big break.
"I love my life in Australia and, as sad as it is to be leaving all my friends, this is what I've always wanted to do,'' she said.
Opportunities in Australia for actors of her age were thin on the ground, she said.
"I had moved to Sydney for a few months and there was just nothing happening.

Very nice I was about to start a page on this beauty. Here are some modeling shots, her musical and The Philosifers with Philippa Coulthard. Did you ever see the video of her and her friend dancing around lifting their tops showing of their tummies, I assume someone hacked her webcam and then posted it on youtube last year.
