TELEVISION star Kerri-Anne Kennerley has revealed she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The 58-year-old has told women’s magazine New Idea that she sought medical assessment seven days ago after discovering a lump "no bigger than a pea".
‘I didn’t have any of the risk factors,’ told the magazine.
‘That’s why I thought it could never happen to me. I’ve always looked after myself, but here I am.’
Ms Kennerley says she has postponed surgery and will appear of the final episode of television dancing contest Dancing With The Stars.
A household name Ms Kennerley has been on the small screen for decades and has hosted popular shows on several networks.
Channel Nine dumped Kennerley as the host of its Morning Show late last year but she soon emerged as a popular contestant on the Seven network’s Dancing with the Stars.
Seven had promised Ms Kennerley her own prime time show when she joined the network. It is unclear whether this will be delayed while she under goes treatment.
Ms Kennerley was nominated for the Gold Logie in 1997, 1998 and 1999 for her role as host of Midday.
