He's become ludicrous and even a little ridiculous and is at his best or was at his best when it involved tele talk shows and off the cuff banter with kennedy.
although he was actually quite watchable when he was doing tens morning australia show few years ago.

But why the hell is he still around and doing stuff he's just not really comfortable with. Television quiz shows? Berts hey day was 50's 60's 70's.

Nines problem is that they never moved on. Were great when television was King but now just look jaundiced out of sync with australia in the 21st century and really retrograde outdated values.

Berts symptomatic of nines crises and also its lack of creativity and disconnection from contemporary australian values.

Would so love to see a show compered by kerri-anne and Bert Newton called possibly "Tight ,Tautened, Cut and Botoxed to hell and back".
Lots old jokes, lots old skits, lotsa ads. Ratings winner.

Quote: A caricature of television personality Bert Newton has won this year's Bald Archy spoof art prize.
The Judy Nadin work, titled Patti's Cake, shows Newton in the buff. The entertainer's trademark wig and cheeky grin are the focus of the portrait.

Nadin, a professional illustrator and cartoonist from Newcastle, wins $5,000 for her efforts.

She says she was inspired to paint Newton because she is a big fan.

"I find him so humorous and wicked," she said.

"The Bald Archies are about satire and humour, so I thought who better to do than Bert."
