Have to agree on the banner, but still the new couch is awesome and the glass desk would be even better if the banner wasn't there.

Thanks. Kochie is alright in a love or hate him way, and his 'left wing', whatever that means now days, spiels are not that over the top. Better than Today during the Howard years where they allowed Howard to free run for ages (often running over two ad breaks) and never asked him any hard questions or held him to account. But that's for another thread. At least this set gives more chances for good full body and leg caps, plus opportunities to catch the presenters as they move from the daises to the desk, as Nat nearly got caught this morning.

I've been an NBC Today watcher for almost 15 years - I don't have any screen caps, but trust me, the new Sunrise set has well and truly been modeled around the NBC version. (btw, I still tape "Today" every morning before Sunrise - and I'm still pissed off with Ch $even for cutting 30 min of it for some damn "early news" bulletin ) Howard always talked ad infinite m on any show he went on. Krudd is an old mate of Sunrise, so whether or not Kochie or Mel ask him any "hard" questions is also debatable - but as you said, that's for another thread They ran a poll this morning asking if viewers like the boys in ties - I say stuff the ties, the soapbox issue should be "Nat and Mel should be banned from wearing pants" Agree that the new set has ample opportunity for great leg shots. And love the glass table too.

OK LoshioTTT thanks for the info. I have just looked at one Today Show YouTube vid of an interview with Obama not that long ago and from what I saw the set didn't look like the new Sunrise one, but I'll have to bow to your long following of the Today Show. Anyway the point is mute as both Today and Sunrise here have copied US sets in the past, it's nothing new.
Rudd and Hockey are old mates of Sunrise, they appeared together. Howard went on Today more than any other TV show and was given more air time there than on any other show, as I said often being on over two ad breaks. Noone else ever got that much time on Today (or anywhere else for that matter), and it is well known Howard and Liebman were close friends. Sunrise asked Howard to come onto their show several times and he never did because he knew he couldn't get away unchallenged with the stuff he got away with on Today.
-------------------------- The Sunrise set and graphics just needs some tweaking here and there, which I'm certain will happen over time, and it will be quite good methinks. Much better for cappers that's for sure.

Much better for cappers that's for sure. NBC Today have a podium / lectern where Ann Curry reads the news, a desk where Merideth Viera and Matt Lauer sit, and a couch where the four presenters sit - just like the new Sunrise set. What's your point, or should I say, your beef with John Howard getting what you call an "easy ride" on Ch 9's Today Show ? Any ALP politician who wants an easy interview just has to ring up their mate Kerry O'Brien - Labor politicians have been "unchallenged" by the Aussie media for decades (imo) - the fact that Today did so to Howard isn't a hanging offence. Or maybe perhaps Howard, as I, can't stand David Koch getting on his high and mighty horse and interrupting guests whose opinions just don't happen to agree with his own ? But anyway, this conversation is way off topic - let's get on with the capping

All they need to do now is dim those lights above the glass desk so we get no reflection. Great caps s_and_o.

So nice of seven to outsource & give many $ to an overseas company to clone their Stateside look. To say that result could not have been dreamed up by locals ..looking at a "USA inspired" wish list from 7 & incorporating what works on camera is a joke. Soon 7 can use up to 1/3 of the pic for their tickers & banners ..al la TMS where mostly the eyes & tops of mouths visible atop of "seven speak".
modecko or should that be Modecko ? How can you call Koshie a leftie ? i would say that he is old enough to still remember what a Journo should be = ballanced & fair. Any inspired stuff of hard line questions etc he is usually looking for a scoop , rather than being supportive of either wing, from my observations over the years.
