Just uploaded some pix, the first 15 went ok, after the second 15 instead of seeing the new thumbs, I got this...
Quote:
Warning: imagecreatefromjpeg() [function.imagecreatefromjpeg]: 'xxxx' is not a valid JPEG file in xxxx on line xxxx

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at xxxx) in xxxx on line xxxx
Error message edited --czblack

After the second attempt they were ok, and the third lot went ok too.

Thought I'd let ya know in case there is a problem developing ....

I've increased the size of buffers in our database server, which was set very low. The site should now theoretically respond much faster...

site is running great & uploading fast on Bigpond cable via mac / firefox

My only suggestion is tweaking Search to accept similat terms rather than rejecting everything from 1 word miss spelt. easily done when folks have not spelled a topic name correctly or the name is hard / variable spelling

ie: Ashleigh / Ashley

That would be quiet a massive tweak. The searching script of this board is pretty complex and such changes would probably require changes in the DB structure as well. Although I might add here the google searching feature instead of current one (or as an alternative). It's very fast, easy to implement and handles TYPOs with ease  I'll try to look at it sometime in february.

google search is also good for helping the bots remember stuff, when others do a general search & may find us as a result  :ohyes:

I've slightly modified the searching script, so that it now completely ignores the common words 'feature' (thanks to Ate for letting us know.). It should work fine now.

It turns out one of the server hard drives failed in the server hosting the site. It has been replaced but the raid array rebuilding process it slowing down the site. It should be back to normal within a few hours. No data was lost.

Apologies to everyone, security upgrade overnight did not complete properly, shutting down the site between 3AM and 8AM WA time. All back to normal now.
