A couple of times I have used it & typed in a celebrity name & it lists every post in every thread where that name was mentioned so you often have to trawl through a few pages to find the thread for which you were looking.
There's also the fact that if someone only remembered part of the celebrity's name or didn't know the exact spelling the search function would not be much help. (Google is not always helpful to resolve this.)
I hate the way it is set up at the other forum board. This is alot more cleaner and straight forward. No one has really ever complained about finding a certain celeb (taking out the search issues from the old AC). I'm not saying that we should ditch or change the search function or that it is less effective than the AC one was, just giving an example as to how it still might be advantageous to break the forum into smaller alpha groups. The thing about the search is, if you don't know the celebrities whole name AND the correct spelling (& there's some pretty tricky ones), you're stuffed. This is not the fault of the mechanism of the search function itself but of common human fallibility. If you have it sub-grouped into half a dozen smaller groups, all they have to know is what letter it begins with & then only have to trawl through a portion rather than the entire forum... If it can potentially make location less protracted & overwhelming then why not do it, by gum!

Hate the new logo so I quickly whipped up one of my own.
Needs work and I'm mucking around with other in sunnies effects with mixed success, but time is beating me. Will post the results when I get back from my trip and work on them a bit more.

I quite like the new logo actually. The fact that it's not trying to be too clever or pretentious. I like its simplicity.

This logo was uploaded by wolverine and I'm not overly impressed by that as well My idea is something tabloid style - bold font, high contrast and very simple to be usable in various situations. I've asked several companies here in the czech republic and the new professional logo would cost roughly 1000 euros which is quiet a lot, so I'd rather try something else first. So if anyone could come up with something similar to what I described, it would be mostly welcome...
