Mariana is the newest member of The World Game team and can be seen and heard across all SBS platforms presenting football in both English and Italian.

After studying political science, Mariana moved to the Northern Italian city of Milan to work in the airline industry before receiving qualifications to teach English to Italian businesses.

The bubbly Australian soon had one of the world's most successful football clubs, AC Milan, as her client. Spending the next 12 months teaching English to the club's administration staff, Mariana was able to indulge in one of her great passions, football, when she was offered season tickets to the club's home matches.

After almost three years abroad, Mariana returned home to Sydney to pursue a career in public relations and completed study in PR and journalism, while using her spare time to follow her other passion of writing music and performing.

Five years later she returned to Milan to work with a music producer. To subsidise her music career, Mariana freelanced for a number of major Italian publishers translating articles and working closely with senior editorial staff.

After experiencing her adopted country's World Cup victory, Mariana decided to return to Australia in late 2006 and soon took up a role as sports reporter on Football Stars of Tomorrow which currently airs on SBS.

The eldest of three children, Mariana is sister to former Sydney FC defender, Mark Rudan, and names many top Australian footballers as close family friends.

Fluent in Croatian and Italian, Mariana descends from a traditional football family. Spending her childhood weekends watching her brother play football, she joined her family in their weekly pilgrimage to barrack for Sydney United in the National Soccer League.
