Celebrities We Hate, and Why.

The notion that people need religion to make them "behave" I find a lil' disturbing.
Common decency towards our fellow wo/man need not come from sets of arbitrary rules, but should come from ones own sense what's cool and what's not.
People that actually do need whatever religion to shape their behaviour/values have always struck me as strange.
And yes, Melissa Doyle is an idiot.

A jumped up, overrated finance reporter. Wants people to think that he's a very cool & funny guy but really he isn't...
This might make you laugh. This is a conversation he had with Ian Thorpe who was promoting his own line of men's underwear after he just arrived at an airport:
Kochie: Mate, I really love your undies.
Thorpee: Mate, maybe you should switch to Calvin Klein.
I'm not a big fan of Thorpee but he delivered a "thorpedo" that could've sunk the Lusatania that day!

Hmm,
Seems I missed the moment by some minutes. God damn proof reading.
Good to see we're moving on, that whole debate was starting to get very boring.
Peoples differences should be celebrated, not hated on.
Our joint hatred of morning talk show hosts has united us.
I'm beginning to dislike Roboto and Miss Annoying over on channel 9 more than these two clowns recently...

I've got to agree with mossy: in my opinion, Melissa Doyle is a comes over as a suburban housewife, and not a very bright one. She's totally out of place on what is supposed to be a serious news show.
Kochie also gives me the s@@ts, he didn't when the show started, but 'as my mother put it; "Years of being the only man amongst a group of aggressive women has turned him into a total wimp".

Damn! I missed that point & would like to have addressed it before we moved on so hope I'm not too late.
I too believe that common decency is more on par with common sense than ones own religious beliefs.
My dad was RC & my mum is C of E & I was baptised an Anglican but have grown as an agnostic & later as an atheist, yet I feel no inclination to invade another country, kill a whole family for being different to me, support genocide proposals, rape, murder, steal or even strap bombs to myself.
I'm not saying religion is to blame for all that is wrong in the world. I blame human nature. It's natural for humans to fear & mistrust all that is different. For many it is much harder to accept & understand or even embrace. What I understand of the Bible, the Qur’an, etc. all teach us to love, understand & tolerate. It's people's twisted interpretation of the texts & the agendas & desires of the religious leaders who do it that are the real problem.
I believe that, even if we didn't have religion, we would still have the same problems we have now; just under different banners. It's the thinking of the people that needs to change.
Anyway, that's my two bobs worth & yes, Melissa Doyle is, in fact, a prat!

I just hate most celebs cause quite openly, they are no better than you, me or the guy or gal next to you, but most think they are

He's right you know. We worship them too much & allow them to overshadow the achievements for others. I recall ever seeing fire-fighters, ambulance officers or foreign aid volunteers having red carpeted awards nights & asked & being lavished in jewels & given the the latest Versace designs to adorn...

Well, I hardly ever visit the the celebrity threads but I admit I'm not above having a perve at a few images but I'm still a long way off worshipping them as others here & elsewhere seem to do. Anyway, I spend 90% of my time in the discussion boards & a substantial percentage of that time making fun of celebrities at the bemusement of many others.
Personally, I've never found Angelina very attractive. I know I'm in a minority but we all have our own different boats to float.
I've seen some very attractive people who weren't celebrities but, yes, most of the movie stars are beautiful people. Is that by design or default? What is it exactly that we are expected to worship or admire about them? Why are the top ten (or is it five) A-list movie stars of each gender always the most attractive rather than the most talented?
