Had the pleasure of meeting sophie luck today at my local shopping centre turns out she lives just near me.
Didnt have a camera with me unfortunatly.
DId ask her about doing some photoshoots with her as i do model photography and gave her my card so hopefully i might be able to get to shoot with her.
She looks incredibly cute in person and shes only a tiny little thing to.

Captured by pure luck as I entered the wrong programming into my PVR/Media Box and recognised her name so thought I would take some caps to upload here.

One of my pet hates is when actors get naked on film then awkwardly keep their privates covered in someway because they don't want to be naked. See it in movies and shows all the time, it shits me and yes the perve in me feel ripped off.

Some part of her interview

Sophie Luck is one of the fantastic teen actors in the hit ABC-TV series Blue Water High. We asked her a few questions about acting, being recognised and surfing. Read on…

• How old are you?
Sixteen
• Do you have any brothers or sisters and if so do they act as well?
I have a twelve year old little sister called Stephanie – she does acting classes, but doesn’t go to castings yet. She’s a really good dancer as well.
• Where did you grow up?
I was born in Sydney, but grew up in West Pymble.
• What’s it like being an actress?
It’s really fun and the experience is good. I learn lots from the other actors.
• How old were you when you started acting and how did you get into it?
I was eight when I first started. When I was a little kid I used to love to dress up and put on shows for my parents, so they got me an agent and I started to get jobs.
• Is working on Blue Water High as fun as it looks?
Yes it is. We just have so much fun all the time. It’s not work. When you see us on the TV all having fun and mucking around, we really are. I love it.
• What else have you acted in?
A couple of other shows and a few commercials for Elan Linen. I was in Home and Away for 6 months (16 episodes) as well. I met lots of great people on the Home and Away set. It was a good experience.
• Blue Water High is about a surf school, so can you surf?
Most of the surfing is done by doubles. When you see us paddling out or sitting on the boards, then that’s us, but the other stuff is done by real surfers. I’d really love to learn though.
• Do you ever get recognised?
Sometimes. It’s a bit embarrassing though when people come up to me at the shops and stuff. Some people think I’m the little sister from the movie Blue Crush, but I’m not – I wish I was. How cool would that be?
• Do you get to go to red carpet events?
I went to the Nickelodeon Kids choice awards and won Young Actor Award at the AFI awards. It’s pretty exciting.

“I really like acting and hope that I get to do it for a long time.”

We seem to have lost my May 2006 Interview (text) with Sophie, during all the site shuffles & server crashes. Sadly it was on my 1st PC that died without email backups.. never used that delete email from server option since !
Quote:
From Yahoo Groups Files
G`Day! Sophie, just a few quick questions for your Yahoo Fan Group-

When did you first want to be a performer,
and what steps did you take to make the dream reality?
Sophie: I started acting at about age 8. I used to always put on performances for my parents and then I started active classes, got with an agent and then I guess it all happened from there.

In the early days what most did you like/ dislike about photo shoots?
Sophie: Umm, I don’t do much,
I only started doing them last year a bit, it’s fun because of the cool clothes and working with others.
But when you’re on your own and have to smile for ages it gets a bit embarrassing.

What was your first TV shoot and how was it?
Sophie: The first show I did was Water Rats and I did one episode. It was scary a bit, but a lot of fun.

Did you enjoy playing Tamara on Home & Away and were you sad when it was over?
Sophie: I loved it!!
A great experience and the people are awesome. When it was over I was so upset, because I became so attached. It was very overwhelming.

How did the main HAA cast treat you and was any advice / tips given by them?
Sophie: The main cast were really supportive and friendly. They would just give me a few tips here and there.

Do you like slapstick style comedy – like the ice cream over Max (Dominick Elmaloglou) head when your character broke up with him- also the food fight in BWH etc?
Sophie: Umm, yeah, it’s good to add comedy or funny stuff to the storylines and it’s really fun to do.

When you found out that “Fly “ was from West Australia, like your Home and Away character did you think you were being typecast (Lolz ) ?:
Sophie: (LOL) Good question!! No, I didn’t think about that actually.

Now Blue Water High is screening worldwide has your fan mail answering time gone troppo?
Sophie: No it hasn’t really. But I do have a person from Germany and Canada which is pretty cool.

Have you always been a water baby and how much have your surfing skills improved with BWH?
Sophie: Love the beach! I do get scared of big waves sometimes. I love surfing and it’s fun. Don’t get to do much though but my skills have improved.

Do you love all the attention like at the Nick Kids Choice Awards, and AFI Awards Nights plus Logies etc. ?
Sophie: You know what? I don’t see it like that. To go to those things is really an honour.
I’m just thrilled to be there. I don’t go looking for attention or even want it.
(LOL)

When you received your AFI Award how did you go about delivering one of the best acceptance speeches, Adult or Teen?
(More experienced peepz could learn from your impressive speech IMO!)
Sophie: Ha ha – thanks. I didn’t even think I was going to win,
so I quickly wrote the speech at the airport on a scrappy piece of paper. I rambled on – I was so nervous.

What was your Logies Highlight and who made your wonderful gown?
Sophie: Everything was a highlight.
It was all so cool, getting ready, the limo, walking the red carpet and meeting so many celebs. It was an amazing night … especially too when BWH won a logie.
My dress was designed by Tabu and the jewellery was Peter Lang

A UK actress ,who like you goes to a regular school, had a funny experience at an inter school soccer match ,
when the goalie raced out of the goal and started jumping up and down wanting her autograph .
Do you have any funny tales of fandom and school?
Sophie: Mmm, not really – thankfully – ( no joke that ‘s really sweet).
When people honour you or get excited about what you do it’s embarrassing though, but you have to see it from their perspective. I do it all the time, like with Simon Baker at the AFI’s.

Now you are into the 2 “crunch years” of High School will you have to slow down on acting projects,
after BWH 2 is wrapped?
Sophie: School is definitely tough as year 11 and 12 are. I am doing Pathways which is easier. I am not going to turn down anything for school because opportunities like that might not come up again.

Down the track do you have any Stage/Theatre ambitions?
Sophie: I would love to do some theatre. It’s a lot of fun.

Do you have a dream movie role picked out and if so can you share it with us?
Sophie: I would love to be in a movie where I am a teenage girl, going through a really bad time, is bad and also has attitude. I would love to do that for some reason.

Would you prefer to be a “cover girl” on TV Week or Dolly magazine or another mag?
Sophie: I don’t know, I don’t really mind. Don’t have to be on a front cover (LOL)

What advice would you give to others wishing to be a performer?
Sophie: Believe in yourself and never give up. Don’t let people put you down or say ‘you can’t do it’ because you can do anything you put your heart into. Practice makes perfect! Be patient and always prepare and be willing to learn and then your time will come.
Love
Sophie xoxo
