Sad news for Samantha Jades family.  Quote: Samantha Jade's mother Jacqui Gibbs has died after battling cancer.
The pop star and actress, 27, was by her side when she passed away on Sunday morning and confirmed the sad news via a statement on Tuesday morning.
'Our beautiful mother Jacqueline Deans Gibbs passed away peacefully with family by her side,' she wrote.
'She fought til the very end with the strength and grace by which she lived her life and will be deeply missed.
'We appreciate your kind words, prayers, and respect for our family during this very difficult time.'
Ms. Gibbs was only diagnosed with cancer in February this year.
The former X Factor winner immediately rushed back to her family home in Perth to take care of her mother.
She has been living there ever since, occasionally flying back to Sydney for work commitments including a Cure Brain Cancer Foundation ball she attended last month.
The benefit ball was in support of neurosurgeon Dr Charles Tao who phoned Jade and offered his help in relation to her mother's health in the wake of her diagnosis
