thanks dj , it has been quiet about Addy for too long Quote: Perth keeps rising star grounded LINDSAY McPHEE, The West AustralianDecember 28, 2011
It is a long way from her home in Los Angeles but for the past few weeks Perth-born actor Adelaide Kane has been soaking up the local beaches, sun and time with friends and family before she returns to the US.
Kane, 21, has recently completed the independent comedy film Goats with Hollywood stars Minnie Driver and David Duchovny and will head back to LA today.
Now signed with William Morris, the biggest talent agency in the world, Kane's star is on the rise.
The former St Hilda's student has been living in Los Angeles for the past few years, but takes every opportunity she can to come home to Perth.
"It's been interesting, definitely a learning process," Kane said.
"LA is exactly what you imagine it to be and not what you imagine at all.
"It can be a strange and lonely place but I have a boyfriend and a group of friends who are really enthusiastic and not jaded by the business.
"You've got something to prove if you are from Australia.
"Australians have quite a good reputation as great actors and hard workers, so there are a lot of expectations and you have to live up to it."
Kane, who played Lolly in Neighbours for six months, is about to embark on three exhausting months of auditions in LA. Apart from her friends and boyfriend, Kane relies on support from her mother Janine and Perth agent Vivian Poulton, from Frog Management, whom she has been with since she was six.

According to The Wrap, Max Burkholder has been offered the role of Charlie while Adelaide Kane will play the Role of Zoey. They join Ethan Hawke and Lena Headey. James DeMonaco wrote the script and is set to direct the feature. “Jason Blum, Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are producing through Blum’s Blumhouse and Bay’s Platinum Dunes. Why Not Productions also is producing.” Details of the story are still firmly under wraps, however the film is said to begin filming this February 13th. Hopefully soon we will get some idea as to what this one involves.

Quote: Filming Begins on The Occult
Isn't strange there hasn't been a horror film called The Occult before? You'd think that title would have been used once or twice by now. Anyway, a supernatural thriller with that title is currently shooting in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Screen Gems announced The Occult is now in production with Christian E. Christiansen (The Roommate) directing from a script by Karl Mueller. Dexter's Jennifer Carpenter, Rufus Sewell, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Thomas McDonell, Adelaide Kane, Leah Pipes, Colm Meaney, Stacey Edwards and Ric Reitz. "Something very strange happened in the small village of New Bethlehem, a devout community kept under the tight reins of the town's vigilant Elders. Six girls born on the same day to different mothers. Perhaps a coincidence or as most believe a chilling omen of something yet to come. Now, on the eve of their 18th birthday, the young women are mysteriously disappearing one by one and feared dead. Terror has overtaken this quiet community. Could this be the work of a serial killer, one of the village elders or a horrific prophecy come true, born of the supernatural, The Occult?"
