Yes this morning, I disregarded this rumor as somebody's sick joke, but I when on the net to get the real source of information and couldn't believe I was actually awake reading this, and wasn't dreaming either.

Horrible finish of what has been a horrid season, I feel for Bickley though, he may never coach a team a AFL Level again. |

Even though I don't see Bicks as a coach, I'd still rather him than Rodney Eade. We don't need another Gary Ayres. AFC is not here to give failed Victorian coaches second or third chances & a pay rise just so they can f#ck it up again.... |

I knew Brenton when he was still playing for Sturt & the Crows & an instructor at the gym where I was a member at the time. I'll always think of him as that cheeky 18 year old with an eye for the ladies. I'm actually pretty happy with the AFC's decision. I wanted them to think outside the box & try someone fresh & hopefully give them a new direction. For me, Geelong were the most extraordinary side of the last decade, considering where they were & how far they've come. The fact that they lost their senior coach & their most valued player & still remain competitive, I think, is demonstrative of the whole structure of the side. And Brenton was a significant part of that. Whether he does indeed turn out to be the right tonic for the AFC remains to be seen. Fingers crossed... |

I still reckon they should have the Showdown & Derby on ANZAC Day so that the SANFL & WAFL diggers can be honoured in the same way as all the VFL diggers are in the Collingwood & Essendon game... |
