End of an era with Sheedy given the heave ho today at seasons end.
Essendon wont be the same. I remember the Bombers/Hawks rivalry of 80's. Sheedy had such dominant teams over his 27 years.
I wonder if Wallace will get the ass as well and Sheedy getting the gig at the team he played for.

I doubt sheedy would go to Richmond. If he is so fond of Richmond why would he stay at Essendon for more than a quarter of a century?

Damien Hardwick just announced as Essendons new coach. They want Peter Sumich as a senior assistant.

Am quite happy with that decision (if it is announced officially). To be honest, I would have been happy with any of the choices they were left with after Neil Daniher was ruled out.

Apparently it is still not official. The news announced yesterday that Daniher and Sumich has missed out on the job leaving only Hardwick as the 1 but apparently they are still keen on Mark Thompson.

...and bingo they announce Matthew Knights on a 3 year deal.
The media just cant get info right before they announce it naming Hardwick the other day to get it wrong.
