I've sort of just got in the habit of checking each Wed or Thurs - just interested I spose. This thread is well away from the more popular Celebs or Models section, which I suspect 90% of members don't stray from.
Anyway, best of luck - I reckon you've done a great job so far and really hope you achieve your goal.
Cheers

Stick to it, Bluey. If you're eating right and exercising, you must be getting healthier, even if you're not losing weight.

Just after a little advice... Im currently 193cm and weigh 110kg... Im not insanely obese but I will probably end up that way if i dont take action. problem is... i have an inner ear problem that pretty much prohibits any bike work, treadmills and running in general (in decent quantities)make me crook. I play cricket every summer and a game of indoor cricket every week, but they are basically sports that require a whole pile of standing around...not the best for weight loss... I used to be a pretty damn good player ( not blowing my own trumpet) but have gone downhill with my increase in weight and decrease in fitness... thing is if i train too hard i feel sick and have to leave the training track after an hour...
Any advice???
Oh yeah, i eat like crap because i cant cook and dont have a great deal of money to invest in decent food.

Hey Bluey - it's me again. Just joined a 'boot camp' fitness group and have finished the first week of 4. It's bloody hard work, made even worse by the 6.00am start, but hell you feel good for the rest of the day. It involves working with bricks for you arms, running up and down steps, pushing cars and carrying ropes - all at your own pace. Been great so far.

Drinking water may be the most important piece to the weight loss puzzle. Water contains no calories, fat, or cholesterol and is low in sodium. It is nature's appetite suppressant, and it helps the body to metabolize fat. Current research shows that low water intakes yield an increase in fat deposits. Conversely, a high water intake reduces the amount fat deposits. Without enough water, the kidneys cannot function properly. As a result, some of their workload is pushed off onto the liver, in turn preventing the liver from operating at peak levels. Because metabolizing fat is a primary function of the liver, and because the liver can't function at peak levels when taking on the added workload from the kidneys, less body fat is metabolized and more is stored. This leads to either weight gain or reaching a plateau of weight loss. When dieting, we restrict the calories we take in, to some degree. By doing so, we lessen the total amount of water available to our bodies since about 30% of the average person's water intake comes from the food they eat. This gives us even more reason to raise our water intake.
