IT was the TV role which launched her pop career, now Sony songbird Delta Goodrem is set to reprise her Neighbours character for the soap’s special 30 year celebrations.

The latest big name star to return to Ramsay Street, Goodrem began filming her three-episode run today on the Channel 10 series’ Melbourne set, but will also take part in a star-studded documentary to air for the show’s anniversary in March next year.

Goodrem played much-loved girl-next-door Nina Tucker, whose fictional musical career mirrored that of the Innocent Eyes singer’s real life chart success.

Series producer Jason Herbison hinted there would be a musical theme to Goodrem’s appearance.

“It’s only natural that music would some how be involved. Having Delta join us for this momentous occasion is the icing on the cake, we are delighted,” he said.

Goodrem appeared on the show between 2002-03, tweeting her excitement at revising the role which helped make her a household name.

“I am so excited to be making a guest appearance as Nina Tucker for Neighbours’s special anniversary. Guess what, Nina Tucker returns to Erinsborough!!! Look out Ramsay Street, Nina is back!!”
