Agree darthbish, but I don't think it would have saved the show.
The story doing the rounds that seems to be based in some fact is the Circle was axed because of Paul Henry on Ten Breakfast.
Ten got him over from New Zealand for a million a year. Over in New Zealand he had been sacked for racist remarks so Ten believed they could get a controversial figure here to lift their ailing ratings. But their ratings went backwards and Ten Breakfast is wallowing, but instead of breaking the contract with Paul Henry, Ten has axed The Circle.
Another example of the dumbing down of media in this country and them putting vacuous opinion spruiking over substance.
