Narly why don't you use a $100 usb TV Tuner and record direct to your pc then use Virtualdub to cap you won't loose Hd quality then.What your doing now seems to be a lot of work.

G'day Dodgie , I could do that but then I would need to up grade pc ,hardrive etc , probably a new puter alltogether & at this stage I have better things to spend my hard earned on. Thank's for the tip though . It really doesn't take me that long . Any program that I'm not interested in I just fast forward to the cappable bits.

Sorry to stay off topic.

If your PVR records in .ts (transport stream) or .tp format than Media Player Classic can play them and you can cap directly from MPC with Alt+I.

MPC Home Cinema is here: http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/

That way you can stay in the resolution you first recorded it in if you have a USB connection on the PVR or some other way of getting it to your computer.
