Ok , normally I'm here just pouring over any pics of Sammy and telling everyone how gorgeous she is ... but I have a bit of a quandry today and I'm not sure if I actually hear right.
Towards the end of todays Weekend Sunrise they did a segment on an ad for Libra Tampons. The ad centred on 2 women in a hotel toilet doing their make up etc and one of them turns out to be a trannie who can do everything the real woman does ( eyes , lips , hair etc etc ) but obvioulsy falls short when it comes to using her tampons . Hilarious .... NOT.
Anyway , in introducing the segment , Sammy said that there had been outrage over the fact that the advertiser was highlighting the fact that trannies dont 'menstruate' . After showing the ad , Sammy immediately apologised for using the word 'menstruate' .
Is this for real ?
Did I hear it right ?
Is the word 'menstruate' really offensive to ANYONE ???
I seriously couldnt believe my ears .
Anyway , sorry to go on ... just really got to me this one.
As for Sammy , even in pants she is still the most stunning woman on TV in Australia , the world and possibly the known universe !!!!
Sigh .... I'm hopping back in my cage now .....

I do not think the said word is "offensive". It is a normal medical term that could be mentioned in medical segment or any social segment for that matter and the context was appropriate to use that word etc. I do remember another occasion when Sam said something about a gay couple, nothing offensive at all, just a normal observation. But she quickly clarified afterwards that she is not homophobic, as she worked in Journalism etc. Maybe Sam is over-cautious, and that is a great quality for a news presenter, she cares very much about the impact of her words and the potential ways it may be interpreted. (Hopping back in my cage as well...)
