Have watched random eps ever since it was on ABC....never found it funny , but hey , SOMEONE out the must as it's had a long life

Well, at the risk of going off topic, I've never considered myself a fan either, in fact, I consider it to be an example of a much wider problem. It's not to say some of them don't have talent, it's just that being 'funny' these days is more about having an 'attitude' than actually having good material that is delivered well.
