The business short version is also on about 11:30pm and repeated a few time throughout the night and abc24

Cheers impalethe Thank you for your comment. Yes, I am aware of iview and often catch up with "The Business" via that medium. But mostly it is a re-run of the 15 minute segment - the Jeremy Grantham interview recently an obvious exception. My point is that the presentation would not be so hectic and constrained with a more lengthy timespan. There are so many repeated programs on the ABC (ironically because of financial constraints), that an extra 15 minutes for "The Business" could be easily accommodated.

20b you are so right! Kath has been wearing some of these outfits for 4 or 5 years. It's Summer and early Autumn, so where are the appropriate frocks and off-the-shoulder outfits? I don't believe that Kath has EVER worn an outfit which shows her bare arms on the ABC (she certainly did so on the commercial channels). She has lovely arms and shoulders, but the ABC Wardrobe Nazis must think that this is too much flesh....? However there are plenty of ABC women who don't adhere to this dress code, so why not our beautiful Kathryn? I have always wondered if the outfits worn by presenters are their personal property or are just studio wardrobe accessories? The ABC doesn't seem to bother with Kath showing the occasional cleavage (although I haven't noticed any this year??), so why not some appropriate Summer outfits that allow Kath to celebrate her obvious femininity.

To my knowledge ABC has always had a wear your own wardrobe policy, No advertising of commercial products allowed. Lately the other stations have let the presenters wear their own clothes and advertising is done on their social media e.g. acnet-files/image.php?id=1553521&from=post. If they do a deal with some clothing supplier they rarely have credits or voiceover where they can say "Presenter y is dressed by ...." Explains why a lot of presenters on commercial channels also wear the same clothes repeatedly

Thanks impalethe for clearing up the ownership query. I highly suspected that they were her own clothes - Kath has a certain classy style which would be hard to emulate from wardrobe stock. Presumably she has a Summer wardrobe at home - so why isn't she wearing appropriate Summer outfits? The question remains: does the ABC vet the clothes worn by presenters, or is Kath choosing not to wear off-the-shoulder dresses and tops for some obscure reason? I can recall Mary Gearin reading the 7pm News(Vic)for the first time in a dress she she was practically falling out of the top of - that dress was never worn again!
