i seem to be having the problem. i use pvr and when i cap the video it comes out it 1440x1080 format. i think takk mentioned a program earlier but i ain't tech-savy enough to use it. does any one else know how i can convert to 1920x1080 format?
(looks like i got 1000th kylie post)

1440*1080 is correct for 1080i HD. That's how it is broadcasted, the squashed look. There's nothing wrong with your equipment - whether it is PVR or USB tuner or PCI card etc - in case you're wondering.
Basically, your equipment is automatically resizing to 16:9 dimensions only for viewing, not for recording or capping, which is why you need to resize to make videos or for caps. That's how I understand it anyway.
For a short while just before 7two and go! began, 7 and 9 HD broadcasted at 1920*1080, which was a great convenience.
Use xnview or gimp to resize stills, all sorts of programs from virtualdub to adobe premiere can resize videos.
