For the last few months brunette Beauty Erin McNaught has lit up our screens as a guest VJ on MTV. But we thought it was time to make things official and today we welcome her as a full-time member of our MTV VJ team.
Erin first caught our eye as a rambunctious VIP guest at this year’s MTV Snow Jam. With stamina that would give the Energiser Bunny a run for its money, Erin matches her 100watt smile with a wit that even keeps resident prankster Darren McMullen on his toes.
Erin has joined fellow VJs Ruby Rose and Darren McMullen on a number of MTV initiatives including MTV Summer, the recent OPTUS ONE80PROJECT premiere, as well as regular appearances on MTV News.
The Brisbane native has had a multitude of success throughout her career. In 2006 she represented Australia in the Miss Universe competition, becoming a personal favourite of ‘The Donald’. Erin has also appeared on a number of Australia TV shows including ‘Neighbours’ and has even made an appearance on ’The Late Show With David Letterman’.
But don’t be fooled by her pageant past, this girl knows how to rock. Erin spent two year in the grunge-capital, Seattle and has played bass and done back-up singing in a local punk band.
When asked how she felt about her official posting Erin said: “This job is the ultimate for me. Music is my world and there aren’t many people who get to immerse themselves in music and popular culture for a living. When I found out I got the job, I was in my car and Money For Nothing was playing. When they sang the line, I Want My MTV, I started laughing because I never imagined I would be sitting here, 10 years later, now a part of something that is synonymous with my generation - it blew me away.”
Welcome Erin, we couldn’t think of a better addition to our already kick-arse team.
