So losing the baby weight quickly is vital to her going back to work, just like a sportsperson etc. The problem is that the glamazines (and media) set her (and others) up as "normal", and that a woman (or man) is somehow inferior if they aren't up to standard. At the same time though, glorifying overweight women (and men) as being acceptable is even worse - it treats the symptom (make them feel good about being obese to alleviate the short term feeling of guilt), rather than promoting a healthy lifestyle and getting down to a medically acceptable weight.

Well said. Saddens me when we criticize the magazine models for being too unrealistic, and then on the other hand pat the fat ones on the back for being voluptuous while they eat another cookie. It's like we are making excuses these days. Everyone has the ability to drop the pounds. But letting go of emotional baggage is the only way you can sustain a healthy lifestyle. (Note: I didn't say get super skinny, or remaining morbidly obese, I said healthy which starts with what you put in your mouth and how much exercise you do each week.)
