Coast H20 show a kids' hit again

GOLD Coast filmed global kids hit H2O: Just Add Water has been voted the Fave Drama Show of Aussie kids at the Australian Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards for the second year in a row.
The second series of the show about a trio of mermaids, played by Cariba Heine, Phoebe Tonkin and Claire Holt, vied for the gong against veteran Australian dramas Blue Water High, Neighbours and Home and Away.
Heine, who most recently appeared in ripped-from-the-headlines telemovie A Model Daughter: The Killing of Carolyne Byrne, accepted the award in Melbourne.
``It was a crazy night and we thank the fans who voted for us,'' she said.
Series three of H20, which brings former Home and Away favourite Indiana Evans to the cast, has just had its world premiere in the UK where it is a kids' television favourite second only to Doctor Who.
H20 series three will air on Channel 10 in the new year and a new H20 movie, which will use a variety of locations including the Gold Coast, is also in the works.
H20 creator and producer Jonathan M.Shiff is confident Australian audiences will enjoy the new series as much as the first two.
``It's fantastic - almost as good as being slimed!,'' he said.
``It's great Aussie fans continue to support and enjoy H2O. I know they will be just as thrilled when they see season three.''
