I haven't read any of the media articles but I did watch the episode & didn't see/hear anything I'd deem as inappropriate. No worse than what many other comedians have said about other child stars (presuming that's what all the fuss is about).
It's getting harder & harder for comedians to joke about anything/anyone nowadays which is a disconcerting indication as to where we're heading. We're creating far too many sacred cows.

Spicks & Specks: BritanniaYes it’s Adam Hills as a punk and Alan Brough as Amy Winehouse in an upcoming theme special on Spicks and Specks. This year the show “tours the world.” First stop: Britannia. Joining them on this special are English jazz star Jamie Cullum as Paul McCartney, Australian journalist Ritchie York as John Lennon, and comedians Sarah Millican as Dusty Springfield, and Hamish Blake as Rod Stewart. Oh and Myf? She’s also Amy Winehouse. The Spicks and Specks Malvern Stars game is transformed into a three-seater bike – in true Goodies style, and Elton Jack closes the show with a medley of three classic songs a la Elton John-style.
