Anyway, the trash-TV juggernaut is once again stomping its two moralistic feet where they don't belong. The police know about it & investigating it so, if they really do care, they should just shut the hell up & keep their noses out of it. The girl making the accusation certainly should not be talking to the media about it during the investigation. If she is she's a bloody idiot as far as I'm concerned.

The ACA story was filmed prior to any police invoelment, when she kept saying the dude was still powerfull it did not make sence.. his wife however is a major casting force. What has been shown so far ,apart from trash tv ratings, may bring out more victims willing to co operate.
The whole thing is actually good in many ways , as uncomfortable as it is ... the main weapon of the attackers is the awkward silence.

Twitter joy was when clicking on the tending topic "Hey Dad" early on, most were innocent comments about things like "i luv u da" get me an "ipod etc" & one of my faves a rather jaded comment of "dad' psshht... you dont deserve the label dad. sperm donor suits you".

Footz, I agree with you in all but I just severely lack the ability to trust the sincerity of trash-TV programmes & believe that their true motivation is to act in the interest of the victim/s.

Well Ben Oxenbould has said he saw some inappropriate behaviour of Robert Hughes back in the day with a girl that had come to visit the set and he had to pull her away.
Always wondered why Mr Kelly had left the show towards the end but apparently he and Exec Producer had massive rows over the allegations at the time resulting in Robert Hughes resigning from the show.

More of the story via linkhttp://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010 ... 856057.htm Quote: Hey Dad! abuse case stalled

Black-and-white promo shot of the cast of Hey Dad!

Hey Dad! Robert Hughes played Sarah Monahan's on-screen father.

Police say no official investigation is underway into claims of sexual abuse on the set of Australian TV comedy Hey Dad!

Former child star Sarah Monahan last week told a woman's magazine a man on the show inappropriately touched her and exposed himself to her.

Actor Robert Hughes, who now lives in Singapore, was on Wednesday night named by the Nine Network as the alleged perpetrator.

Hughes has vehemently denied the allegation and his legal team have been in contact with NSW Police.

A Current Affair reported that other women had come forward with claims similar to Monahan.

But commander of the NSW Sex Crimes Squad, Detective Superintendent John Kerlatec, says an official investigation into the matter will not proceed until the alleged victims contact police.

"Our information is based on what's in the media. I've had no direct contact - and neither has anyone else in NSW Police - with any of the victims," he said.

"If victims make contact with police it'll be taken in strict confidence."
