I don't think we need to clutter the site with schedules , we can look at them online anyway . It's just that someone may see something that others have missed . Those off us that work between say 5am till 5pm often glance over whats on late at night or during the day . Award shows such as the ARIAS ( for example )can sometimes be repeated on a saturday or sunday arvo and can easily be missed .
Edit : - Heartbeat on Seven 2 Mondays at 7'30pm Surely providing information (including a heads up for a up-coming episodes) would be better off posted in the show's actual threads. People who like Heartbeat, Newtopia, etc. would be more inclined to read a recent post in their threads called "Heartbeat", "Newstopia", etc. rather than one called "TV Alert". Isn't that what the TV Shows forum is for? If they don't have a thread, just make one.

The idea is to alert people that a show is on at a certain time or a show is being repeated at a certain time or to alert people that that someone is appearing on a certain show . eg Jen Hawkins modeling Lingerie and bikinis on the Today show . I can't see the point in cluttering up the forum with a thread for each show that appears on TV.

In the Today show thread? Or the Jen Hawkins thread? A common alert thread would make it easy for people to see what is currently on TV, so I won't miss out on seeing Jen Hawkins, just because I missed a post in the Today show thread, which I mightn't check every time I log in. P.S. "The Hunger" is on channel GO! at 11 pm TV tonight (Susan Sarandon & Catherine Deneuve engaged in lesbian vampire sex - can it get any better than that? )

It just doesn't work, Narlz. A few people tried it before on the old site (one of whom myself). People just don't come here looking to find out what's coming up on the tellybox...
Go ahead & try it but I think you'll find it'll be a five minute wonder for just a handful of people & you'll eventually get jaded with it yourself...

This is a bit of track but what about a caper alert thread.I don't really watch a lot of tv but i record a lot so i can cap and last night sandra was on the 7pm project and then it was repeated late last night.Maybe the thread starter,if interested can be notified somehow that she/he will be on later or the show is being repeated.Via pm may work but it's a hassle and not that quick. Can this tread be setup so the thread starter can be notified easily via a automated tab or something with the date and time that the show is on again ?.

I seriously doubt there are any modules for phpBB to support such functionality. And developing one is a lot of trouble for what seems to me would be used only very sparsely. We are mindful of the fact that any customisation of forum code causes difficulty when it comes to upgrades, so we try and avoid it. I could be convinced into a dedicated forum section for that purpose but only if there are a number of people who would find it useful. Anyone else?

Wouldn't the heads up more likely hit more of the right people if it were posted in the Sandra Sully thread?

Go! is showing the first two episodes of Blackadder at 1 am this coming Friday.
Hopefully they will do all four series.
