Probably won't be shown in Australia
Well, hopefully the DVD will still become available...

A piece in the SMH about TV07 said ABC would be screening it. They may have it and Who back to back
I've watched a few episodes and while it's better than most junk the commercial stations cram in it's nothing special. Really don't like Gwen's character

Apparently, Channel 10 have bought Torchwood, so guess what that means:
Every "Brand new season of Torchwood" will be the series pilot, then about three episodes of past series (out of order) then one more new one & then a few more old ones?
At the end of the show seeing the credits squashed to the side of the screen so we can all (including the 90% deaf elderly neighbours) hear the BLARINGLY loud Big Brother, Biggest Loser & Celebrity Pets promotions.
Adverts sliding across the bottom of the screen, DURING THE PROGRAMME for Big Brother Uplate, The All-New Simpsons hour (featuring all-old episodes) & Classic Seinfeld & Raymond.
Sandra Sully interrupting every five minutes with her Prozac, dulcet-toned, half-speed robotic news updates which are always the exact same late “breaking” item about someone’s cat being stuck in a tree or something really important that couldn't wait, like a "popular" Channel 10 personality just said something really nice about penguins.
And not to forget those important Sports Tonight interruptions of their “breaking” news about the AFL player that broke a nail at training today or the Australian cricket player tells us how much he loves apples....
And if it's a success for Channel 10, they may even get one of the stars out for a promotional tour where they'll be scheduled to appear on marvellous Channel 10 home grown shows like "Hotdogs' Uplate Game Show" where they'll be asked the usual relevant & insightful questions, such as:
"Have you watched any Big Brother since you've been out here & who's your favourite house mate?"
They might even put them in the front row of “Australian Idol” so the host can pretend to be really surprised to see him/her there whilst claiming to be a big fan of “Touchwood”…
Channel 10 also knows that there is a strict programming tradition to adhere to for the benefit of cult television fans who expect nothing else concerning any television show that isn’t prefixed with “CSI” or “NCIS”, etc.:
- Stopping halfway through a series for new episodes of “Joker Poker” which is a fun game featuring poker playing comedians (95% of whom are actually bankrupt ‘80s footballers or rugby players, hosts of failed reality-TV shows, failed contestants of reality-TV shows or Channel 10 personalities who are to host a new reality-TV show premiering next week so they can slip in “subtle” cross-promotions every 45 seconds.)
- Being pulled at the last minute without warning so they can treat us to another special edition of “Video Hits Uplate” featuring Tina Arena’s brand new song; “Chains”, or the latest & hippest group from the UK, called The Spice Girls…
- And generally staying loyal to the precedent set by Channel 7’s treatment “Stargate: SG-1”, & Channel 9’s treatment of “Babylon 5” & all the “Star Trek” spin-off shows for all those years (& the way they’re treating Rome now).

Will be interesting to see what timeslot they give this
As has been said, will probably be after 9:30, but also agree with the "will be on for 3 weeks then droped" - not to sure how good it will go over here (downloaded it when it came out last year)

Well when Big Brother finishes ten will have what 18 hours of scheduling blank so lots to choose from. I don't think it will rate though, sci-fi never attracts many viewers in australia, and while Torchwood is OK to watch it's far from great

How much longer till Big Brother ends ?
If they are promoting it this early than that is
I have a feeling it may be run sooner (within 4 weeks) rather than later (end of big brother / mid year ratings off season)
