Margot Tanjutco is a writer, actor, and creative director.
She is the Associate Director for Benjamin Law’s upcoming play Torch The Place (MTC). She finished a successful season of her solo show Vanity Fair Enough at The Coopers Malthouse for Melbourne International Comedy Festival where she was also nominated for the Golden Gibbo. She just wrapped a season of Polygamy, Polygayou: A New Musical for Melbourne Fringe plus a slew of other Fringe guest spots. She recently developed a web series with Cinespace StoryLab and a short play for MTC and EWF’s First Stage.
Her work has been featured by ABC’s The Mix and Stop Everything!, SBS Voices, and Time Out. Last year she graduated with Distinction for Bachelor of Communications (Media) from RMIT University where she also worked in Creative Communications for RMIT Creative. Her visual art has also been exhibited at First Site Gallery and the Chinese Museum.
As a performer she recently appeared as Juliet in critically-acclaimed electropop lesbian musical Romeo is Not the Only Fruit at The Coopers Malthouse for Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Brisbane Festival, and HotHouse Theatre. Other shows include solo cabaret Estrella Wing, Showgirl for Melbourne Fringe and Original Cast: The Completely Improvised Musical.
I just came across her as she is in a show with another favourite of mine - Michelle Lim Davidson.
