It sounds like there wont be a major dramatic ending which is poor by the crew. I straight away thought robert robinson would break out of prison come back and team up with paul who has lost everything and they both destroy ramsay street

They aren't going to blow it up, have a serial killer mass slaughter or anything else apocalyptic.
The producers will be hoping a rescue package can be put together before the final shoot and then they'll keep trying to find a new partner/channel after the crew have packed up. There's too much money and too many jobs involved in a show like this. Plus, it's a decades old institution. Besides, most of the actors in this show now are unemployable anywhere else or are at the ends of their careers anyway. One or two have never done anything else. Some of the younger actors will have been pushed by agents and managers to jump ship early so they aren't associated with a dead cat. Anderson at least is saleable for the next few years, especially on the Aussie indie film making scene. Donovan's best chance outside of Australia is a return to UK and a gig on something like Hollyoaks. She's not exactly Jenna Coleman.
The final few episodes will probably be a bit of fun and will go something along the lines of "life goes on" and "oh, what it is to have good neighbours" and they'll leave it open ended so it can be picked up again at some point in the future. If they have a serious possibility or even think they do there'll be at least one major cliffhanger.
The simple fact is for the last few years the writing has been bloody awful and the standard of acting has deteriorated to the point of am-dram. It's tried to stay "relevant" and be "woke" but it isn't even very good at doing that. Piss poor TV standing on a soapbox isn't popular. The fact that someone in this thread wrote with disbelief "you watch this show?" tells you all you need to know about how Neighbours is regarded now and why it's dying.
