A GOLD coast apartment, a princess for a best friend and a gig in a band await actor Maddy Tyers, but leaving her West Preston home is still going to be tough.
Tyers, 20, is about to head north for a starring role in the children’s television series for the Ten Network, The Elephant Princess. It will be filmed at Warner Bros studios at Movie World.
“It will be an amazing and life- changing experience and it will help me grow up. I’m ready for the move but I’m really going to miss my family and friends,” Tyers said.
“We’re a really close family and my boyfriend (Beau Rayner) is here but they say absence makes the heart grow fonder.”
Tyers also appeared as lead support character, Amanda, in the first series, filmed in Melbourne last year. She is already close to the cast, particularly to her onscreen best friend, Emily Robins, who plays Alexandra Wilson, a girl who finds out she’s a princess.
“In this series Amanda and Alex get a scholarship to go to the Gold Coast and go to music school,” Tyers said.
It’s been an exciting time for Tyers as the Elephant Princess CD she recorded with Robins has just hit the shelves.
