The project details the tumultuous story of Spears’ rise to fame, her fall from grace and eventual triumphant resurrection. It will follow Spears’ story, beginning as a young girl from Louisiana trying to make a name for herself in the music scene, her relationship with fellow pop singer — and one-time Mickey Mouse Club castmate — Justin Timberlake and her private life crumbling after the divorce of her parents and her tabloid breakup with Timberlake in this a two-hour TV movie about Britney Spears starring Natasha Bassett (Hail, Caesar!) as the pop icon. Production begins next month in Vancouver for a 2017 premiere on Lifetime.
