Sinopsis:

Poca broma con Damned By Dawn, pues va para sorpresa de la temporada. Porque en ella no hay ni trampa ni tregua y sí mucho terror, mucha bruma, mucho grito y sobre todo muchas criaturas. Especialmente banshees, espíritus femeninos que acechan a una familia para anunciar la muerte de un pariente. Una joven y su novio ven como el fin de semana con los padres de ella se va al traste con una potente dosis de terror al estilo del Sam Raimi más gamberro. El grito amenazante de una mujer anuncia el comienzo de una perturbadora noche. ¿La guinda del pastel? Una ‘encantadora’ abuelita, de tez pálida y profundas ojeras.

Probably the two best uses of the special effects budget are with 1) the Banshee, and 2) the flying dead. First, the Banshee is wickedly terrifying, with her bleeding eyes and horrific wail (folks, I gotta tell you: I have surround-sound at home and I had to crank it waaaay down when the Banshee screamed…the pictures were rattling on the walls!). Actress Bridget Neval is certainly to be commended for her performance as said wraith, for she does so with a disturbingly believable zeal. And the flying dead, although mostly computer generated, are very well done and incorporated into each scene almost flawlessly
