We decided to try something fresh so we changed the forum theme. Hope you like it... Let us know below if you experience any problems.

Sorry, don't like it!
I don't see the need for change, when there was nothing wrong at all with the old theme!

The 'worst' thing, is that I can't go into User Control Panel and choose the old theme!
The ability to 'çhoose' has been taken away from us, the new look has been 'forced' on us, whether we like it or not!

Sorry that you feel that way but it doesn't change anything. We didn't remove the old theme because we don't want members to have choice, it was removed because two themes require a lot more work to upkeep and modify for new features. You will appreciate that there are many changes from default phpBB that had to be made in order to support unique features of this forum. At this stage it is simply not possible to spend time required for both themes. Down the track, maybe but not at this stage. This is a hobby project for all of us after all...

I don't really have an issue with this theme. Prefer the previous themes but like it was stated above the common goal for all concerned is that
we share and enjoy the posting and viewing as it is a hobby at the end of the day. Keep up the good work everyone.

Cheers

Sorry but not really digging this new theme. Previous theme was easier on the eye.

So why? what was the problem with the old theme? were there complaints from members about it? saying they didn't like it?
I just can't see the point of changing things for the sake of it, when everything was ok before!

I prefer this cleaner and more modern look. I'm sure most would agree the original theme was getting a bit tired and in a need of update and this is a breath of fresh air for the site. If this theme is not to everyone's liking, I'm happy to look at alternative themes or even have a vote on which one to adopt. I understand change is hard to accept when you feel there was no need for it but unless you can offer your help with maintaining code for two themes, it is not coming back.

For those interested in suggesting another theme, please browse through some here and let us know what you prefer. I'm happy to adopt any theme most can overwhelmingly agree on.

I personally like the AZ Retro or Aktif style board off the above website.

People are always upset by theme changes, the problem is that when you're familiar with a theme you're able to read and navigate instantaneously. When a new theme comes along you have to relearn what you're looking at. The upshot is that it looks nice and in a week or two everyone will be happy again. If it makes your life easier then all the better. :thumright:
