We have moved the entire forum to a new server, and used the opportunity to move to a new URL as well ( http://forums.auscelebs.net/ ). Of course, to make it easier for our members, all the old URLs will be redirected to the site for a considerable time to come. All images have also been moved as well, so your forum experience should not change much.

There is currently a small issue of some mail servers rejecting mail sent to members watching certain threads. We are working to resolve the issue and will keep you posted. In the mean while, keep checking your favourite threads manually if you are not receiving those notifications.

If you notice anything else not working now that used to work before, please report the problems here. With this new server arrangement, we have better access to server resources and this will give us the freedom to expand in the future, as well as troubleshoot any problems a lot easier.

Happy browsing, from your friendly auscelebs.net admins :yes:

I think if you delete your old desktop shortcut & create a new one that problem will be solved :ohyes:

Viewing images in a frames page?
I couldn't figure out why images were showing differently to in the past with a white block above them.
Then I looked at the page source and found this...

<html>
<frameset rows="115,*" border="0" style="border: 1px solid #000;">
<frame src="upper.php" noresize="noresize" />
<frame src="showImage.php?id=100541" noresize="noresize" />
<noframes>
<body>
<a href="displayImage.php?id=100541">Views image</a>
</body>
</noframes>

</frameset>
</html>

Why the need for the upper.php ?

That area is where Google ads are shown. You are blocking all of those using whatever methods, which is why you don't see anything in there.

There may be some more changes to come to that window, stay tuned.

But the images used to be in the top left of the page, I never used to see a white space before the server change.

Hm that's quiet an opposition against jpeg resampling... I should've noted that we use 85% resample quality, which gives very similar results as the original with AVG 40% small size (I doubt anyone can notice the difference unless after a deep search). For some those huge caps we sometimes get 80% decrease in size. Anyway I have turned the resampling off for the time being until we reach some conclusion.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I used frameset on the picture displaying page for two reasons:
1. I needed some space to place banner
2. I wanted to keep comfort of browser specific picture displaying and nice filenames (posted by headers).

Frameset is absolete and not recommended to use, but is supported by literally every browser newer than 10 years and works even with those that don't.

The problem with a frameset is, it stops us using the DownloadThemAll plugin, which makes downloading a page full of images a breeze.
Now we will be forced to do each image one by one!!
:sad:

Ads are everywhere, we need them to run the site as everyone. Downloading of multiple pictures can be solved also other ways (ie. packing them into zip files for each post/topic).

Do you mean the poster should put them in a zip?
or do you mean the viewer can zip them up somehow? if so, how?

There simply would be a link "download set as zip" (it works quiet nicely on one porn site, where I found it :) ). Or wolverine suggested via IM that we could allow not displaying ads for certain members (like valuable posters), which is also a way. I now have to work on something else, but pls post your feedback - I'd like to have as much responses as possible.
