Luv Luv Luv the new uploader... Luv being able to upload all the caps in one go, instead of groups of 15 at a time... But, sorry, I absolutely hate the thumbs being cropped like that! I would like to see that changed back...

New uploader is good, my only wish is for the file size to be shown ... so i do not blow my bandwidth downloading a 4Mb giff instead of a 200KB Jpg, by mistake plse. Also the ability to pick & choose a selection not only a group or 1 pic. IE atm when i sellect a series of shots but as i cap a show with several characters & sometimes 2-3 similar & just pick the best shot normally then having the ability to just untick a few (on the uploader group selection) would be preferable to sellecting a few/one depending on their order in the file, or having to sort out a show into character groups by file rename or separate sub folders, delete or rename sub par caps, then is harder work than the old uploader Example of caps in file uploader as example

Thanks for valuable feedback, the new thumbs are obviously somewhat controversial, so I will try to find some better solution than current one. Some suggestions should be pretty simple to implement - like displaying picture size, which I will probably do as a mouseover bubble together with the number of views or other info.
Problems described with selecting pictures in the uploader mostly work to me and the new uploader rather extends options of selecting the pics than to limit it (if I got it right). Anyway, the file selecting screen in the uploader is provided by the operating system, so my capabilities there are limited. Things I can do, like filtering file types, I do.

I tried various combinations of shapes and sizes of thumbnails and I think I have something usable. Unfortunately I will have to create another thumbs, so give me a couple of days to make it happen.

I have no problem here at all , as I have all my caps sorted and named In an " to upload folder " before I even get here .

Sorry to go on about this but I'm really not liking the new setup because it delivers a double whammy.
1. I can no longer bulk download so have to go through image by image, and as posters are now posting many images in a single post, made easier now with the new uploader, this becomes a long chore.
2. Now as the thumbnails chop off so much of the cap it has become difficult to pick out just which images to chose, thus meaning you need to pick just about all of them one at a time because of 1.
The whole experience has become irksome and unpleasant chore instead of the enjoyable experience I've gotten from this site over the long number of years I've been visiting and contributing to it.

I have to agree with Modecko, with the caps now being cropped I find myself clicking on all the images, to see the picture properly, cause I can't tell from the preview whether I want to see the full version or not. I want the system for the uploaders to be as easy as possible for them to upload there images and I am happy they now have a easy and quicker system, they do a great job and deserve things to be easy, but I hope that the preview pics can go back to the way they were.

HERE is the uploader, which creates new thumbnails. I made four changes: 1. Thumbnails are much less cropped (roughly as google image search), 2. instead of full resolution, only a character (S, M or L) is displayed to save space and improve readability. Also, I assigned different colors to each size category to make the difference immediately visible. 3. Image size is displayed on mouse over. 4. Java scripting is much simpler and thus faster. Tresholds for picture size categories are: S: <307 200 px (which is < 640*480 or eq.) M: <921 600 px (or < 1280*720 or eq.) L: >921 600 px (or > 1280*720 or eq.) I will start creating new thumbnails tomorrow and implement the whole thing when it's done; sharkboi wrote: Q re the new uploader, how many images can it handle for an upload? Images are uploaded serially, that is one after another instead of all in one request, so it is only limited by maximum number of temporary images (~ not attached to any post), which is set to 200. Maximum size of one image is 10MB. Jpg, gif, png and bmp are supported.

Did a Kylie Gillies post 2 hours ago, and the thumbs were shown in the order I uploaded them, now they are showing in some other order! I checked a few, and it appears they may be now showing in the least viewed to most viewed order! Have some changes been made?
