Yes, it's a lot better now.
I cleared my cache and loaded the site and went to the Kylie Gillies thread, which usually has lots of thumbs, loaded nice and fast.

I have modified the pic uploading script so that it now resamples images. This should prevent 640x480 caps be 1.5MB or so... Older images are now resampled too :smoke:

That's ok czblack for those posters who don't know how to properly create caps and scans of a relevant quality to size, but now you are penalising those of us who do know how to do this.

I am very careful in attempting to get the best quality for size of the caps I create, but if you now resample them you degrade that quality. Resampling a jpeg, which is already a lossy format, to another jpeg just adds quality loss onto a quality loss. This is unfair on the many good cappers and scanners here who make an effort to balance the size of their images with its quality.

Don't understand what you are getting at with your inane statement atez? It added nothing to the debate, didn't answer my query and was a personal attack on a long time member and contributor here.

+ 1 is a standard message board form of agreement with a quoted post.
Therefore i too concur with your well thought out observations & technical suggestions about degrading all images.

The remark about SD Caps & phonepics is a dig at all those who love "something" being posted ,regardless of any quality. In this you tube age & phone pic facebook - twitter mania the standard of images has become quite tardy, as most folk view & accept those images their own eye becomes used to blurry rather than sharp material and can not tell the difference any more.

sorry about the "jive talk Bro " in my previous post you did not understand

No probs atez. If you didn't know the term then your post comes across as a personal attack. You should take that into account when making posts, not everyone is up on all terminology and internet idiosyncrasies, especially since they seem to change from month to month.

If images uploaded are to be resampled I won't post using the site uploader, I will post images offsite from now on.
Sorry, but I have no desire to have what I upload degraded in any way.
