Yesterday I noticed that thumbs aren't being shown in the order they were capped and uploaded, couldn't figure out what was going on.
Checked a couple of threads today, and thumbs were shown in a different order that I capped and uploaded them. After lots of fiddling and testing, I think I know what is happening.
I think somehow that after recent changes that have been made, that thumbs are now being shown in the order of how many views they have received, from lowest to highest. If I'm correct, the problem with this is that series of caps are not being shown in the correct order of capping.
If for instance Sunrise is capped for 3 hours and there is a group of caps of Mel at 8.15am, over time they will be ungrouped and scattered among the thumbs in their incorrect order.
I know some people will consider this a minor matter not worth worrying about, but I take time doing capping, and I think it best if thumbs are shown in their correct chronological order, of capping and uploading.
Anything else means they become a jumbled mess, which keeps on changing every time their viewed!
Am I right? can it be fixed?

Oops, "most viewed first" was supposed to be for testing purposes only, I thought I turned it off Current thumbs will be replaced by new ones shortly, so little harm there. In fact, new thumbs production was finished this night, so if I get myself to work it may be up this weekend.

The new uploader's up. I am not entirely done yet, but most things should be working now. We also have new thumbnails Took a lot of time and work, but I think the new ones look much better. Thanks to the lazy loading I implemented earlier, we can now afford displaying thumbs in higher quality (and size). Square thumbnails are not always positive though, because the scene is sometimes cut too much, but I did some extensive testing and the new cutting technique mostly serves better than the old one.

Sorry but I'm not a fan of the new thumbnails. They aren't actually full representations of the image but a cropped and shrunk one, so in many a good deal the cap is cut off, often the actually subject of the cap.
If there is anyway of creating the thumbnail without cropping the cap it would be good.

If there is anyway of creating the thumbnail without cropping the cap it would be good. It is always a compromise. The original thumbnails lacked detail and many of them were too small to recognize what's going on on the picture, new ones are sometimes cropped in wrong places. I decided to go with square thumbnails because they: 1. provide greater detail, 2. work better than old ones most of the times, 3. are much easier to work with. Apart from that, screencaps are almost always uploaded in batches, so the user receives the point from entire post rather than from one picture and rarely happens that all pictures in the post are cut off so badly that they are all unreadable.

Liking the new uploader , but it doesn't default back to the folder from which your uploading . Is this an uploader issue or a browser issue , I'm running firefox .

I like the new thumbnails. The only comment I have is if image dimensions could be displayed below the thumb, so it's not taking away room from the image which is already quite small. Or perhaps only display the dimensions on mouse over? Just an idea...
