Problems you describe are usually caused by adblocks and other javascript blocking stuff. Normally it should look like on the attached pic. czblack wrote: EDIT: I plan to modify the scripts to allow direct downloading for our top members, but that will take some time. TOP 20 members should now have direct links available. modecko wrote: Thanks czblack.
I have no obs against ads to keep this place running, having been here for so long now, both iterations. Just a pain having to download one image at a time. Thanks for understanding. I always try to find best possible compromise between user experience and site revenues, which is sometimes difficult. Making direct image links available has removed the images from the black screen with the information data, back to being top left on the plain white screen! As a capper I find the image data to be very useful information, it tells me what type of caps people are interested in, and not very interested in at all, by the number of views they receive. I like knowing what people want, this info let's me know what type of caps to bother doing, rather than wasting time doing caps which barely get any views. I prefer the black screen with the image data, any way for me to get that back? apart from logging out.

I prefer the black screen with the image data, any way for me to get that back? apart from logging out. It's been done. If someone else of the top 20 members want standard image screen too, let me know. I guess I'll end up personalizing the image screen for every member

Thumbnails are now lazy-loaded to improve page loading speed, I also did some changes to the webserver settings to improve large response times during traffic peaks. Somewhat less welcome news is probably the return of advertising - to the picture displaying page for now and a banner or two will follow on the forum...

At first I thought this was a great solution, until I realised that if use middle-mouse click on threads to view them in new tab (which I always do), thumbnails don't load in the new tab until I activate the tab and scroll the page. This is what I see

It works to me, what version of chrome do you use? Is javascript enabled?
EDIT: Tested in chrome 10 versions back and all work as they should. EDIT #2: IE 7-9 works fine as well.

Lazy loading works for me, will save me bandwidth not loading thumbs unnecessarily unless I scroll down a page, which will put less load on the sites server as well, so it's good all round.
