Can we have discussion and or ruling on posting of images either genned by ai or run thru ai filter to "enhance" please?
Aislop to me falls squarely under the "No posting of fakes" rule regardless of whether the new image contains nudity or not. There are (still) celeb fake sites out there that accommodate that sort of thing and it does seem to be becoming more prevalent here.

AI slop can be categorised as fakes so it's not allowed. Fake is a fake no matter how it was generated.
If AI is used to enhance an image because the original was too small or too dark, that is acceptable. Main difference being image improvement rather than create something that never existed.

I use it at times to remove text / text boxes or remove people . I never alter the actual subject .

I disagree - due respect to narly about removing elements (basically getting ai to shoop masks and different layers.) but if it's too dark or small then all we're probably getting in the end is mostly ai. If the image isn't up to posting standards it shouldn't be posted. I'd put that in the same box as pics of a tv screen - no amount of sharpening filter (done by the poster OR ai) is going to turn it into a hires image.

The devil is in the details of course. I would generally expect to see both the original and modified version, we can then judge whether it is a reasonable enhancement or AI slop.

What's the mods/member's feelings about discussion on AI generation techniques, as a post or topic under the General section?
Would technical discussions about generation go against the forum spirit, ethics or rules, or would this be something of interest?

I don't have a problem with discussing it in a technical thread, just don't post any pics as that goes against our posting policies.
