 Choosing a web browser
Message Author

Postby Pep » Sun Oct 23, 2011 3:29 am

I've always used internet explorer, but recently I've been thinking about installing another web browser. I've been researching what's out there but the more I read the more confused I get (I'm not a very tech minded guy unfortunately). :???:

So I was wondering if anyone here could give me any advice about what to consider using and what to avoid.

Thanks!

I use google chrome, has lots of cool features....apparently pages run "faster". I assume this is because the program isn't bogged down with useless addons etc. I have heard 'firefox is good, and i have used it before.

here is a link for google chrome, as the website states, it installs in seconds.

I used to swear by IE however about 5 years ago I changed over to Firefox and havent looked back. I have used Chrome to but Firefox with their addons is the most user friendly imo.

I've heard Chrome is okay but that Firefox is still better; probably because of the add-ons you can get that I listed. Chrome is owned by Google so they're not going to give you an add-on like DownloadHelper which allows you to download videos from YouTube (which is owned by Google) or AdBlock or FlashBlock which stops your browser loading up adverts (which Google make revenue from). But I guess the main reason I won't get Chrome is because, don't we already use enough nosey Google applications already? :???:

I am quite surprised to hear that. I'm guessing they're not supplied by the Chrome site itself? (If yes I'll be double surprised.)
