 Comodo - Free Internet Security
Message Author

Postby HumphreyBBear » Mon Nov 16, 2009 5:34 pm

I have installed Comodo Internet Security.

I would have to say that, so far, I am extremely impressed.

All of them are free! - No trial period - Absolutely free!!

Comodo is a Certificate Authority in competition with companies like Verisign (who dominate the Certificate market).
They publish this stuff on the basis of making internet transactions more secure, hoping that this will inspire more people
to buy stuff across the net, which will attract more businesses onto the net that will buy Certificates.
Comodo hopes to capitalise on this increase in business.

I've been using Comodo Firewall Pro for a few years now.

You are paying for Pro (which is fine; if you want to do that).

What I am endorsing here is the FREE product, which I tried a few years ago (the Firewall only - as the Anti Virus was still in Beta development).
At that stage the user interface was useless, compared to competitors, but the firewall itself was highly regarded, and I thought I should revisit this application at a later date.

Now, the Anti Virus is fully functional, and is coupled with the Firewall in single install package.
The user interface that they have developed is simply brilliant!

There is flexibility there for the novice through to the expert, and it is free.

BTW: @TPTB - can we have a Technical sub forum, pretty please?
