Dokic, Ivanovic to join Brisbane line-upJelena Dokic and Ana Ivanovic will join Kim Clijsters in the women's draw after Brisbane International organisers on Thursday bolstered the drawcards for the first tennis tournament of 2010. Along with the announcements of crowd favourites Dokic and Ivanovic, Frenchman Gael Monfils and American James Blake were officially named for the January 3-10 tournament at the Queensland Tennis Centre. Monfils and Blake will make their debuts at Pat Rafter Arena in the build-up to the Australian Open and challenge headline act Andy Roddick. Tournament director Steve Ayles said the Brisbane International was close to announcing more big names with the deadline for entry into the event November 22. Australian tennis's prodigal daughter, Dokic will return to Rafter Arena after beginning her emotional ride into this year's Australian Open quarter-finals in Brisbane, where she lost in two tiebreakers to France's Amelie Mauresmo. Former world No.1 Ivanovic, who also began her 2009 Open preparations with a fortnight in Queensland, was the top seed in the inaugural event but crashed out in the quarter-finals to Mauresmo. The 2008 French Open champion, who has family in Melbourne, has indicated she will again base her preparations in the sunshine state. "I think that's the ultimate endorsement for the tournament, the city and the state," Ayles said. "She's coming back to do exactly the same but she's coming even earlier." Jelena Dokic wins second ITF tournament in three weeks in FranceAfter another disruptive year, Jelena Dokic is playing her way back into form after winning her second tournament in three weeks. Dokic snared the ITF tournament in Poitiers, France on Monday (EDT) after beating talented Swede Sofia Arvidsson in the final. The week before Dokic was beaten by Arvidsson in the final in Joue-Les-Tours but last month won a $100,000 event in Athens by defeating home-town favourite Eleni Daniilidou in the final. The 26-year-old began the season with a stirring quarter-final appearance at the Australian Open as a wildcard entry, going down in a tough three-setter to world No.1 Dinara Safina. She returned to the Fed Cup team and was instrumental in helping Australia move up to the World Group II section next year after they defeated Switzerland in Mildura in February. Dokic then ran into a variety of problems, including bad draws, a back injury and the reappearance of her erratic father Damir. She fell to Dane Caroline Wozniacki in the first round in Memphis and again in Miami. In April she withdrew from Ponte Vedra Beach and Charleston in the US with sports fatigue syndrome. A back injury forced her out of the French Open and Birmingham while she bowed out in the opening round at Wimbledon. Dokic's father then received a 15-month jail term for threatening to blow up the Australian ambassador to Serbia. He has reportedly gone on a hunger strike in a Serbian prison and has written a suicide note. Dokic was arrested in May after he told Serbian media that he would blow up the country's Australian ambassador, Clare Birgin, if she did nothing to stop Australian press reports that he had beaten his daughter while he was her tennis coach. Jelena was again forced to answer for his actions and repeated she had cut off all contact with Damir. But her consistent recent play has seen her ranking cut to No.64 in the world which augurs well for her bid to receive a direct entry into January's Australian Open. http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,865 ... 16,00.html

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/paris ... 5810744342Quote: JELENA Dokic has joined the Mouratoglou tennis academy in Paris, only weeks before a career-defining Australian Open tilt.
Dokic, 26, and her coach Borna Bikic have agreed to terms with the academy, which employs leading Australian coaches Tony Roche and Peter McNamara.
Dokic is defending 500 ranking points at Melbourne Park from January 18-31 after her run to last season's Australian Open quarter-finals.
If the former world No. 4 is unable to defend those points, she could fall from her ranking of 56 out of the top 100.
The baseliner resurrected her career at the Open when, as a wildcard, she stormed into the last eight. Dokic was finally defeated by world No. 1 and top seed Dinara Safina

Jelena Dokic back, raring to go Quote: JELENA Dokic has returned to Melbourne Park, scene of last January's epic Australian Open surge, eager for more success.
Dokic, 26, practised in virtual solitude yesterday at the national tennis centre in the shadows of the Boxing Day Test at the MCG.
The baseliner will next month attempt to replicate the career-saving glories of January 2009.
Dokic stormed into the Australian Open quarter-finals as the world No.187 on the back of a wildcard.
Since then injuries and a bout of glandular fever have threatened to derail her comeback -- Dokic failed to win a round at the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open.
After flying into Melbourne at 11pm Christmas night, Dokic said that despite feeling fit and healthy again, she was not feeling the pressure to repeat her Australian Open heroics.
"I'm not seeded, so it's not like people can expect me to play semis or finals," Dokic said after her workout with coach Borna Bikic and boyfriend Tin Bikic.
"I think there's more expectation on (world No.13) Sam (Stosur) than me. But, still, I did very well here last year and that got my career back on track and got everything together again."
Dokic, now ranked 56, said a tough end-of-season training program had given her renewed confidence.
"We tried to do as much as we could in the off-season and tried to get everything, health-wise, in order, so that I can hopefully have a full season this year," she said.
"I feel good. We did a lot of training and everything was fine. We got the glandular fever under control. But I had to rest (first) obviously."
Dokic, who will compete in Brisbane and Hobart before the Australian Open, said the Australian summer was usually a good omen for the rest of the year.
"I love this place. I was coming here even when things were not so good, when I was not even ranked . . . and I have a lot of good memories here," Dokic said.
"Always if I can get some good matches in Australia, it's always good for the rest of the season."
Dokic's dream run at the Australian Open began with a first-round win over Austrian Tamira Paszek -- her first grand slam win since 2003.
That was only the start.
Dokic then dumped 17th seed Anna Chakvetadze, 11th seed Caroline Wozniacki and 29th seed Alisa Kleybanova out of the tournament.
Her run was stalled when she lost her quarter-final in three sets to world No.3 Dinara Safina, trimming her ranking to 91st and reviving a stalled career.
Dokic's return to Australia comes as her father, Damir, serves a 15-month jail term for threatening to blow up the Australian ambassador to Serbia. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/jelen ... 5813851719
