What is the best way to capture pics to help out on this site
To that end
What is the best :-
Recorder for free to air - as not all shows are streamed
capturing streaming method - some streams have more on them

Best way to convert that to pics for the forum

My 2 cents.... Instead of 50000 pics with barely a difference between them, just post the video.

I record using a Panasonic DMR-PWT560 to it's internal HDD. I then access the PVR via DLNA across WiFi using MediaMonkey and transfer the file(s) directly to my PC.

I play the file using Media Player Classic with FDDShow set as the Video Renderer.
That allows me to capture consecutive frames whilst the video is running. This is handy when you are searching for a clear shot in an action scene.
I can then find the best shot(s), and get rid of the rest.

Probably not the best way of doing it, but it works.

I don't recommend the Panasonic; it's not always reliable, and the remote control is terrible.

I use an old film (no digital back in the 80s) SLR as my only camera. I still use (and love!) that completely manual camera, and I think the years of experience with it have made photography come a lot more naturally to me.

The PhotoScan app by Google. It’s manual but it works amazing.

Edit: It takes four photos of each so that the final result doesn’t have any glare.

To capture pics, pause the playback on key frames and use a screen capture tool like Snipping Tool or Greenshot.

And to edit photos or videos you can use professional video editing software, to have quality content.
